DisplayFusion 3.3 Released!

February 17, 2011

DisplayFusion 3.3 is here! This new version is jam-packed with new features, and tons of bug fixes. The DisplayFusion Taskbars have been overhauled, and have a bunch of new features. You can now group the taskbar buttons, or align the buttons to the left/right side of the taskbar. Windows 7-style thumbnail previews have been added, and you can now add application shortcuts to each taskbar. All of these taskbar settings can be configured independently for each taskbar, so you can customize your desktop to suit your needs.

Here is a quick rundown on some of the big changes in version 3.3:

  • Added a new feature called "Window Location" which allows you to specify which monitor an application should open on
  • Added a "Show Monitor Selector" HotKey/TitleBar Button that can be used to easily move a window to any monitor
  • Created a new tool called DisplayFusionCommand as a way to interact externally with DisplayFusion from the command line: supports load wallpaper profile, load next wallpaper images, load/unload application hooks, open wallpaper window, open settings window
  • Spanned windows now remember their location, just click the "Span Window" TitleBar Button (or use the HotKey) to restore the window's old position
  • Taskbar Improvements: Buttons can be aligned, shortcuts can be added (applications, files, folders and websites), Windows 7-style thumbnail previews, button grouping and more!
  • Tons of performance improvements and small tweaks

DisplayFusion Site License Price Changes

January 1, 2011

In 2009 the DisplayFusion Pro Site License was introduced, and it has been a very popular license choice for companies that rely on DisplayFusion. Since then, the pricing has changed occasionally, but the price has always been based on the number of machines at your site. In an effort to simplify purchasing a site license, all site licenses are now a fixed price of $645 (Canadian Dollars). This will be a significant savings for most companies, and much easier to purchase. You can visit the DisplayFusion Pro Site License page to see more information about this license. There are multiple ways to purchase (credit card, PO, cheque, bank transfer... etc) and now that the price is constant, you don't need to wait for a custom quote. This means you can purchase a Site License and be using it almost immediately.

Why would you want a site license instead of individual licenses? With a site license you are covered for all the machines at your site without needing to buy more licenses. The site license is a lifetime license so you will never need to pay for updates to newer versions of DisplayFusion. There are no extra maintenance or support costs with the site license, the one price is all you'll ever pay. With a site license you have just 1 license key to manage, instead of many different license keys when you purchase individual licenses. This makes it significantly easier to do large deployments to your networked computers.

If you have received a quote for a site license within the last 6 months that is lower than the new $645 price, we will still honour that quote. If you are a non-profit or educational institution, please contact us for an additional discount. If you have any other questions about licensing, or would like more information on the different payment options please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thanks everyone, and have a Happy New Year!
