Hello DisplayFusion Team,

I run the taskbar mode "All taskbars show relevant windows" and it works well for all apps except the W10 app of OneNote.

OneNote is shown in the taskbar on both monitors I am working with (closing and reopening does not help).

I run on Windows 1809 (Build 17763.437) and have attached a log file.

Any idea which could explain this behaviour and how to overcome it?

Best regards,

Tilman

This is an issue with all Universal (Windows Store) apps unfortunately. It's still on our list to fix up but so far we haven't found a solution.

We'll be sure to let you know when it's all sorted out.

Thanks!

This does not happen with OneNote on Actual Multiple Monitors. Look forward to the fix.

What exactly is "Actual Multiple Monitors"?

Wow this is really frustrating :x After almost going on a year there is still no fix to this or no replies?

What gives?

@parseinteger: Unfortunately it's not an easy problem to solve. Windows only has one API to call for removing taskbar buttons from the Windows taskbar, and that one doesn't work with UWP apps :(

Yikes. What about loading the app through some sort of emulator or process that would allow you to explicitly say which monitor to show the app on? Or is that not even a possible workaround or solution to handle that?

No idea to be honest, but I can pass that thought over to our devs :)

Thanks!

If you use virtual desktops on Win10 the taskbar icons are relevant to that desktop only. That tells me that there is a way to do this. It's just a matter of figuring it out. Have you asked on the Microsoft forums about why the "normal" API call doesn't work for a UWP app?

Oh yeah, we've tried opening a ticket with them about it, but got nowhere :(

My workaround, just stopped using OneNote and got a better note solution (Joplin). This app works fine in the taskbar. :)

My workaround has been to stop using the DF taskbars and use the native taskbars. Now OneNote only shows up on the taskbar where it is supposed to. Something happened that broke the DF taskbars so I didn't have much choice.

Thanks to you both for the replies. I've gone for the standard windows taskbar on both monitors which actually seems to do the job without any issues. Will check out Joplin in the mean time!

Hi Keith- any progress with this issue?

I find using the extended windows taskbar annoying to use.

Thanks
