So, this problem actually started a while back, like years ago, but then I disabled Superfetch and the problem went away. The only thing is for the last couple of months the problem is back and it's driving me nuts. Calculator, Settings, Netflix, and other random apps keep opening themselves into the taskbar (I'm using ObjectDock, not the DFP taskbar or the windows 10 default taskbar) without opening any actual windows. A fix would be much appreciated.

Also, I'm running DisplayFusion Pro (Beta 1) v. 9.5.

Strange, that shouldn't be possible, as we fixed that bug a couple of years ago. Couls you send over a debug log?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

I don't know the exact time the windows opened themselves, because they don't show up on screen, but at 2:04 pm I noticed them open in the task bar.

Thanks! It looks like they showed up right after exiting a full screen application. Does that seem to be the trigger every time?

I haven't had a chance to fully test it, but from my recollection that sounds about right. Also, the issue happens when I wake my computer up from hibernation and log in.

If you disable the taskbars, wait a minute, then re-enable them, does it happen as well?

Ok, interesting. If you guys disable ObjectDock, does this still happen? I wonder if ObjectDock has the same issue that we used to run into with our taskbars.

im also having this issue after upgrading to a bigger ssd and am using objectdock as well and now when i open my calendar the calculator and settings opens as well. i am on windows 10 and read that could cause some issues but im not sure. also when i quit out of objectdock it doesnt do

i can try and see if i catch it happening i have a screen shot of all the windows opened but i havent caught the moment it actually happens but ill leave the ss here if it helps. im not sure whats triggering it i initially thought it was the calendar but i cant seem to make it happen

Okay strange, I tested it out on my end with the calendar but I couldn't seem to reproduce it. If you find a specific application that triggers it, or you're able to capture a video of it happening could you let us know?

so it happened again after restarting my but my recording stuff wasnt working at the time but i have it all working now and will try and get it to happen again

ok sorry for the message spam it didn't happen again after my last message until I woke my pc up from sleep this morning. but it happened when it woke up and I was again unable to get a recording but I think its happening when I log onto my desktop. I've checked startup protocols and none of those are set to launch on startup is there another setting I can check?

i only have objectdock i dont have display fusion sadly. and im not seeing any way to log with just that

Ah, I believe this thread was for DisplayFusion opening those windows when something was opened from Object Dock. If you don't have DisplayFusion installed, there isn't really anything we can do here, but you may want to reach out to Stardock support if you haven't already.

And for what it's worth, I tested with just object dock on my end, no DisplayFusion, but still couldn't seem to reproduce this :(

no worries and yeah im in a thread on their forums as well but they dont seem to know much more either. i was just kinda grasping at straws trying to figure it out. i just did a whole wipe of my pc and reinstalled windows and everything and its still happening lol
